IMH streamlines operations thanks to major systems and processes overhaul

Our long-term growth plans have taken a step forward following the successful first phase implementation of our new ERP system.

Our new Priority ERP system, which went live in January this year, is already bringing a number of basic efficiencies and savings across many business functions and processes.

In our 37-year history we have utilised, to varying degrees, several management systems but as part of our recent growth strategy we recognised that we’d need to streamline processes using technology, to drive business performance.

Working with the support of Teesside University (funded by the Innovate Tees Valley’s Knowledge Exchange Programme) the team spent time developing a robust system scope that identified the many performance and functional requirements needed to drive the business forward. This was an essential first step and helped significantly when it came to selecting the right product and the right supplier to partner with.

James Griffiths, Managing Director at IMH commented: “We didn’t just want an off the shelf system. We wanted a product that could be flexible and support the needs of both our large projects as well as the challenges of our fast-paced service division.

“We also recognised the importance of working with a product partner that listened to our needs, took time to understand the brief, and were able to adapt their solution to cater for our unique business demands. The selection of Priority Software UK and its ERP system was an easy decision on reflection.”

A small internal team led on system development, testing and planning the January “go live” phase. Implementation of phase one has been hugely successful, with significant efficiency and quality improvements across several departments already. Following on with the success of phase one, the team is already driving phase two of the programme, looking at ways to improve forecasting, KPI measurement and increased operational performance.

Getting even more out of the system will allow us to devote more time to our customers and pro-actively develop collaborative solutions. And, in these unprecedented times of uncertainty, the new system has played a major part in allowing us to remain fully operational and respond to the often urgent needs of customers and supply chain partners.

David Greenlees, Managing Director, Priority Software UK & Ireland commented: “In the current economic climate many industries are turning their attention to cloud-based and mobile business management solutions, to support the surge in remote system access, and remote working. And using these systems to increase productivity and drive efficiencies.

“I am delighted that IMH has seen the benefits of implementing Priority ERP and have successfully driven the business forward, improved operations and customer service where others have had to stand still.”

IMH operates across a number of sectors including offshore, marine, infrastructure and energy and its experienced team delivers services in design, installation and commissioning of hydraulic engineering projects. The team’s comprehensive product knowledge enables them to source and supply high quality spares and components to address a customer’s specific need, which addresses technical requirements, delivery and price.
