HYDAC Fluid Care Programme Partnership
Just two years after Paul Griffiths founded IMH in 1983, our relationship with HYDAC was initiated, with much of the foundations being laid by IMH becoming a loyal customer of Flupac, part of the HYDAC Group, where we purchased our filtration products.
In 1993, our relationship grew into a strong and established distribution and service partnership. Since then, we have worked closely with HYDAC on a number of projects from turbine control systems at Torness Nuclear Power Station, to accumulator gas-safety improvements for BP, through to supporting the commissioning of control systems at EDF nuclear power stations.
Most recently, IMH was brought in to support HYDAC with its Fluid Care Programme in the UK, where we were invited to join a workshop and trial the online portal. The portal is now live, with customers being added and samples taken.
Using the HYDAC Fluid Care Programme to continue improving the service we provide to our customers
We were first introduced to the HYDAC Fluid Care Programme in 2024, and we jumped at the chance to learn more about the work HYDAC was doing to encourage education and awareness of good fluid cleanliness across the hydraulic industry. Something we’ve always looked to raise awareness of and champion.
With this programme and its portal, our team will be able to access data from numerous samples to demonstrate to our customers, in a visual and data-driven way, the benefits that good fluid care can deliver to their business. Benefits such as improving efficiency of their system and equipment, whilst reducing downtime and associated costs by addressing issues before they become problematic.
Shaping the programme for success
Through the hands-on Business Innovation Group workshop we attended, we were able to strategically identify key areas of focus and core objectives, then agree priorities of the programme going forward. We found the whole session really insightful, and we came out of it feeling like we had made real progress in helping to drive the programme forward.
James Griffiths, Managing Director at IMH, states: “Working with the HYDAC team to deliver innovative solutions for customers, and utilising its portal will shake up attitudes to fluid care – this is a really exciting opportunity for IMH.”
Introducing our Fluid Care Champion
To support the programme, we have appointed a dedicated ‘champion’ from the team to excel in understanding the service and customer requirements as well as be responsible for initiating discussions with our customers and setting them up on the HYDAC portal to optimise their system fluid care.
We’re excited to announce Chris Mosley as our HYDAC Fluid Care Programme champion! Chris is the perfect choice for this role, with his dedication to improving customer experience and his in-depth knowledge of and case studies from the platform will provide customers with an excellent understanding of how fluid care can improve their hydraulic systems.
We’re looking at this programme as an opportunity to be more proactive with customers on fluid monitoring. By utilising the toolkit, we will be able to ensure our customers understand that taking oil samples is about enabling them to use fluid monitoring to check the health and enhance the performance of their system. By taking samples regularly, at a time determined by their system’s use, a picture can be built up on its condition and any degradation can be spotted and addressed through a number of solutions, allowing us to help minimise the risk of downtime caused by a major fault.
By having these conversations Chris can further support customers in taking action to avoid unexpected and costly downtime.
Chris Mosley comments on the potential impact the programme will have on the industry: “I’m excited to be sharing the portal with our customers because of the amazing potential it holds for them. With clear and well-presented information, the portal will guide users on how good fluid care is essential in improving their hydraulic system output and longevity.
“Whilst we will be looking at initially rolling out this programme to our current customers, it does open the door for us to reach new customers and really be at the forefront of discussions around the importance of fluid care, whilst demonstrating how IMH can further support businesses in maintaining their systems with our extensive expertise and equipment solutions.”
A unified approach
We’re honoured to be working with HYDAC as the first company to champion the programme and look forward to building trusted relationships with customers and contacts alike.
The Fluid Care Programme will not only benefit the end user but will also assist other businesses, like IMH who are part of the supply chain, in educating their own customers about the benefits of good fluid care. By adopting a unified approach, the supply chain can work with HYDAC to share the fluid care message with the industry.
